Moog Etherwave Pro Theremin

Moog Etherwave Pro Theremin

Galerija Slika:

Etherwave® Pro

New! While attending the Winter NAMM Show, Randy Fuchs, Moog's Artist Relations Manager, along with Moog Clinician, Brian Kehew, and Moog Engineer, Steve Dunnington, took some video of the new Etherwave Pro. If you have a link that can handle an 18 Meg download, click here: NAMM Theremin Video.

The Etherwave Pro has just won the 2005 Excellence In Design Award (EID). This bold, beautiful theremin is designed for the gigging musician. Drawing on his 50 years of experience, Bob Moog has designed the next step in the evolution of the original electronic instrument, the Theremin. The Etherwave Pro is a step up both from the best-selling theremin of all time, the Etherwave Standard. The Etherwave Pro features professional quality response and sound in a package designed both for beauty and portability. Whether you're a seasoned thereminist or someone drawn to it's unusual sound and looks, you'll appreciate the quality of response and control this product offers.

Moog theremins are real attention getters on stage - whether it's a Nine Inch Nails concert or the current Motley Crue concert (Etherwaves have been seen and heard on both tours) - the audience will be captivated by the instrument that allows the musician to "pull music from the ether".

The Etherwave Pro features removable pitch and volume antennas. The Pitch range of this instrument extends to 6 1/2 octaves. Both Volume and Pitch antenna response are tuned from the wooden pitch and volume knobs as well as the fine adjustment trim controls at the bottom of the front panel.

The front panel controls include a range switch which allows for choosing one of three octave ranges. The Timbre rotary switch is used to select one of the five preset timbres (classic theremin tones) or enables the front panel Waveform, Brightness, and Filter controls, which allow the thereminist to tailor their own personal theremin tone.

The Etherwave Pro also features a headphone output with level control and a dedicated tuner output. A lighted Standby switch allows the Etherwave Pro to be on but silences the audio output.

A line-level audio output is provided, as well as Pitch and Volume Control Voltages, for interfacing the Etherwave Pro with the Minimoog Voyager Synthesizer, or Moogerfooger Analog Effects.

The Etherwave Pro features a power supply that operates with line voltages from 100 VAC to 240VAC, 50-60 Hz.

Review of the Pro in ThereminWorld
Excerpt from Jason Barile of Thereminworld.com's review of the Etherwave Pro: "If the Etherwave theremin is the Stratocaster of theremins, then the Etherwave Pro is the tweaked out American Strat with custom pickups, precision tuners, and fat frets. As a theremin enthusiast for nearly 10 years, I was completely re-energized by the beauty and flexibility of this instrument. As if the theremin needed to be anymore of a conversation piece, the fine craftsmanship just adds icing to the cake."

Pamelia !
Once you see her in person you are truly mesmerized by her unbelievable talent. Contrast her stage presence with her vivacious personality and you can easily see why everyone loves Pam! We are very proud that she plays our Etherwave Pro. In fact, she was instrumental in the development of it. Thanks, Pam. Check her out on My Space for upcoming gigs; click here: Pamelia Kurstin

Buck Sanders also from the movie shared the following with us. "Just so you know..... (new movie) in the future and without a doubt the Theremin will be back. We got such great response about it. Many people think its Marco's (Marco Beltrami - film scorer extraordinaire) best score."
